Timmy Global Health May 2026 Medical Brigade
Timmy Global Health May 2026 Medical Brigade
Timmy Global Health is an Indianapolis-based nonprofit organization dedicated to expanding access to healthcare and empowering students to tackle global health challenges, both locally and abroad. Our chapter at Indiana State University sends teams of medical professionals and undergraduate students to Ecuador twice a year. We work closely with local organizations to provide medical services to underserved communities in Guangaje, located in the Andes Highlands. Since 2015, over 125 ISU students have participated in these medical brigades.
Your contribution will help fund critical supplies like medical equipment, prescriptions, and other resources needed to meet the pressing healthcare needs of over five hundred individuals who may otherwise go without care. Every donation directly supports the brigade’s mission to increase access to healthcare, relieve suffering, and promote health equity.
Why Support This Brigade? Timmy Global Health’s mission is to empower students, volunteers, and healthcare providers to fight health disparities worldwide. By supporting this brigade, you’re not only contributing to the immediate health and well-being of those in Ecuador but also helping create a sustainable partnership that trains, educates, and empowers local communities.
Join us in making a difference! Even a small donation can have a huge impact. Thank you for helping us bring healthcare, hope, and healing to those who need it most.
Meet Timmy Global Health's volunteers from the previous brigade as they share their stories from the field, bringing critical care to communities in need. Learn about our everyday experiences—connecting with patients, distributing essential medicines, and making a real difference for families who otherwise lack access to healthcare. See how Timmy Global Health isn’t just an organization but a movement fueled by compassion and commitment to health equity and what it truly means to say, “I am Timmy.”
MEET OUR EXECUTIVE BOARD!
Pia Carino: President
My name is Pia Carino and I am a junior Chemistry major with a public health minor. During my time as a Timmy member, I have been on three medical brigades. I have learned so much from the medical providers I worked with, and the impact that the Ecuadorian communities and their culture have made on me is profound. The brigades have made me so much more grateful for the things that I have in my life. To me, Timmy has always been a place for opportunity. It gives both me and other students the opportunity to make connections and serve the people around us. In the short time I’ve been involved in this organization, I have already built bridges that will propel me to greater heights both academically and socially. Because of academics, it is easy to become very absorbed in oneself, so Timmy for me is also a place where I can focus my attention on others and how I can help their needs
Ella Moustgaard: Secretary and May Trip 2026 Leader
Hi! My name is Ella, I am majoring in biology (pre-med) with minors in biochemistry and French, as well as I am on the Swim and Dive team here at ISU. I have participated in the past two brigades in May, and they were truly the most impactful experiences I have ever had in my life. Being able to travel to a new country and experience how other people live was eye opening. I was able to learn so much from both the people in Ecuador and the medical providers that came with us. For me, Timmy means helping others and new opportunities. Ever since joining Timmy at the beginning of my freshman year, I have met so many people who share similar interests with me and have become some of my best friends. Timmy has also been a big learning experience, and I have been able to contribute to many different causes to help others in our community and in Ecuador.
Teresa La: VP of Finance

Hello! My name is Teresa La and I am a first-year chemistry major on the pre-med track at ISU. In my free time, I like to play video games, read books, and do my makeup. Timmy Global Health was the first student organization that stood out to me as a freshman at ISU, and I believe it’s a valuable and unique experience that healthcare students should take part in. Timmy’s mission is to address healthcare disparities across the world, and I hope to carry on this mission throughout my undergraduate journey and medial career. I will be going on my first medial brigade with Timmy in my second year at ISU and hope the experience will widen my perspectives on healthcare. We hope to see you support Timmy’s mission with us!
Lydia Geise: VP of Public Relations

My name is Lydia Geise, and I am a junior majoring in Applied Medicine with minors in Biology and Chemistry. I am excited to be attending my first medical brigade with Timmy in May 2026. Through my involvement with Timmy, I have already been given so many meaningful opportunities that have deepened my perspective and helped me recognize how fortunate I am. What draws me most to this organization is the chance to connect with like-minded individuals who share a passion for service. Being surrounded by people who are equally committed to helping others makes the experience even more impactful. I look forward to working alongside them to support communities in need, while continuing to grow both personally and professionally through this journey.
Jetta Harmon: VP of Community Service

Hello! My name is Jetta Harmon and I am a Junior Biology major on the pre-medicine track, with a minor in coaching. To me, Timmy means serving people from all over the world, while making an impact on lives, families, and generations to come. Timmy is so much bigger than just a service organization. Timmy changes student’s and patient’s lives each day, giving people hope for a better future, and allowing students to go on brigades in Ecuador, dramatically changing a person’s entire outlook on their life. Timmy enables me to serve people and communities in a way that I normally would not be able to, allowing me to grow not only as a student pursuing the medical field, but also as a leader.
Lakshita Sudhakar: VP of Community Service
Hi! My name is Lakshitha Sudhakar, and I am a freshman Chemistry major with a Psychology minor. I joined Timmy Global Health because I care deeply about making healthcare more accessible, especially after seeing how uneven access can be while traveling abroad. Being involved has made me more aware of how large the gaps in healthcare really are, both locally and globally, and how much effort it takes to address them in a meaningful way. Timmy has given me a space to learn outside of academics, engage in service, and stay connected to what matters to me, which is making a real difference in communities.
Layla Ellis: VP of Advocacy

I’m Layla Ellis and I am a freshman Chemistry major with a Language Studies minor. I’m one of Timmy Global Health’s Vice Presidents of Advocacy. I have previously had the privilege of taking two medical brigades with Timmy to Ecuador to serve the rural communities. My brigade experiences have all helped me grow personally and professionally and have helped me make connections that will serve me throughout the rest of my life. Timmy works to surround students from all domains with individuals that share the same values and priorities of service and compassion. Timmy has been the most exceptional community for me to meet other students with the same ambition and heart that I strive to have. Each of the students in our chapter has a true passion for community service and for reaching out to people from different walks of life to help expand our horizons and become more focused on the bigger picture of helping those around us.
Virdiana Rubio: VP of Advocacy

My name is Viridiana Rubio, and I am a third-year Chemistry major with a minor in Forensic Science. I have been a member of Timmy Global Health for 3 years and have thoroughly enjoyed my time being a part of Timmy Global and making a difference. For me, Timmy is all about providing services to patients in Ecuador who can’t tend to their needs as we do. Every patient is always so grateful for what we can provide for them, and it’s an experience that is one of a kind. These services have impacted me in ways I didn’t know that I needed. I can connect with students, faculty, and medical professionals to help build my academic and professional career.
Emmy Sher: January 2027 Trip Leader

My name is Emmy Sher and I am a Junior Chemistry Major and I have been on the trip once, and will be trip leader for January 2027. Timmy has meant so much to me in my years at ISU. I have learned so much from the communities of Ecuador and the medical professionals that come on the brigade with us. The trip was very impactful to me and I am so excited to go again!
