This 1-mile or 3-mile run/walk around Indiana State University's campus will raise awareness and funds for the Campus Counseling Center. Student Philanthropy Org. This event is organized by the Student Philanthropy Organization (SPO) at Indiana State University. Our initiatives on campus include giving back through donations, time, and support to the students and community at Indiana State University. We focus on creating a culture of philanthropy by encouraging students to get involved in events that support the university and its community. It is all about making a positive impact and fostering a spirit of generosity and connection! The donations for this race will be utilized by the Indiana State University Counseling Center and help fund different needs for the students on Indiana State's campus. This center on campus provides students at Indiana State with confidential counseling, guidance, and different wellness resources to help adapt to the college life. Their initiatives are to help student on campus thrive in their academic, personal, and social lives. This center is not just for crisis counseling, but also to help student adjust to college life here at Indiana State. The Counseling Center offers one-on-one sessions and group support for everyone on campus. The donations from this race will help to relieve the cost of some therapy sessions for students at Indiana State. There will be prizes for the top 3 finishers for the 1-mile race and the 3-mile race. Join us for the Cops & Monsters 5K Run/Walk to support Indiana State University Doctor of Physical Therapy students! Student Physical Therapy Assoc Join us for the Cops & Monsters 5K Run/Walk on October 25, 2026, hosted by the Indiana State University Doctor of Physical Therapy program! This family-friendly event promotes physical activity, community involvement, and support for ISU DPT students attending the 2027 APTA Combined Sections Meeting (CSM). Run or walk the 5K, enjoy designated splash zones with local first responders, and have some fun while supporting future physical therapists. Registration includes an event T-shirt. All individuals wanting a shirt must be registered by October 9, 2026 in order to guarantee a shirt. Individuals that register on or after October 10, 2026 understand that they may not receive a shirt. Race Day InformationParkingParking is available throughout the Indiana State University campus. Most campus parking lots are free on weekends, and participants are encouraged to follow all posted parking signs and restrictions. Additional visitor parking is available near the center of campus, including the North Visitor Pay Lot near Hulman Memorial Student Union and the Pavilion Visitor Pay Lot at 7th Street and Larry Bird Avenue. Please allow extra time before the race to park, check in, and make your way to the starting area. Check-InRace-day check-in will take place near the start/finish area. Participants should arrive early enough to check in, receive race-day materials, and be ready prior to their scheduled start time. Additional race-day details will be emailed to registered participants as the event approaches. WaiversBy registering, participants acknowledge that participation in a 5K involves physical activity and inherent risks. All race participants will be required to sign a waiver at the race check-in. A parent or legal guardian will be required to complete applicable waivers for participants under age 18. Weather & Cancellation PolicyThe show will go on — rain or shine! The Cops & Monsters 5K will take place regardless of typical rain or cool weather conditions. Please dress appropriately for the forecast. For participant and volunteer safety, event organizers reserve the right to modify, delay, or cancel portions of the event in the event of severe or dangerous weather conditions. Registration fees are non-refundable. No refunds will be issued due to weather, inability to attend, or event modification/cancellation. What to BringParticipants are encouraged to bring: Comfortable running or walking shoesWeather-appropriate clothingA change of clothes or towel if participating in the Splash ZonesWater as neededYour Halloween spirit — costumes are encouraged! Please make sure costumes are safe to run or walk in and do not obstruct vision or create a tripping hazard.
