Race for a Reason
This event is organized by the Student Philanthropy Organization (SPO) at Indiana State University. Our initiatives on campus include giving back through donations, time, and support to the students and community at Indiana State University. We focus on creating a culture of philanthropy by encouraging students to get involved in events that support the university and its community. It is all about making a positive impact and fostering a spirit of generosity and connection!
Lemon Club was selected to receive the SPO Award at the 2025 President's Dinner and this event will help create awareness for their organization and raise money for the important work they do. The Lemon Club is a partner of Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF), whose mission is to raise awareness and funds for childhood cancer research. The club organizes multiple fundraisers, which include lemonade stands, a campus picnic, and various student engagement events to inspire others about this meaningful cause.
Participants that donate to this event will be included as Give to Blue Day donors and will be included on the Give to Blue Day website on April 15. There will be prizes for the top 3 finishers for the 1-mile race and the 3-mile race. There will also be a $500 prize from Student Philanthropy for the student organization that brings the most members to participate in this event.
This event is going to be the kick-off event for Give to Blue Day, which is Wednesday, April 15, 2026. Give to Blue Day is a fundraising event organized by Indiana State University that is aimed at supporting its students and programs. There are various events organized by the Student Philanthropy Organization, so make sure to keep an eye out for free prizes, food, and fun!

Distance: 1-Mile or 3-Mile Walk/Run
Location: The Indiana State University Fountain
Cost: $10 for ISU Students, $25 for Faculty/Staff/Community Members, $50 for groups of 6, and $100 for groups of 12
